Inspire. Enrich. Achieve.
I love science. When I grow up I want to be a scientist and push science further towards sustainability. As well, I ‘d love to discover a new element or discover a new scientific method!
-Arthur, Year 6.
In our school the teaching of science inspires in children curiosity about phenomena and events in the world around them. The teaching science at St Peter’s aspires to create Scientists who challenge their own thinking and the thinking of others and so develop a persistent curiosity. Our curriculum is planned through Cornerstones so that pupils progressively build on learnt scientific knowledge and skills. This is done either within our half-termly topics, or via standalone units when appropriate. Pupils regularly have the opportunity to apply skills with increased independence, raising questions and recognising ways in which they might scientifically answer questions.
