Dear all,
As we approach World Book Day on Thursday 6th March, I want to take a moment to highlight the incredible importance of reading in our lives. Reading is not just a fundamental skill; it is a gateway to endless possibilities and a lifelong journey of learning and discovery.
For our children, reading opens doors to new worlds, broadens horizons, and fuels the imagination. It enhances vocabulary, improves comprehension, and develops critical thinking skills. Whether it’s a thrilling adventure, a heartwarming story, or an informative non-fiction book, each page turned is a step towards greater knowledge and understanding.
For parents and guardians, reading with your children is a wonderful way to bond and share special moments. It sets a positive example and fosters a love for books that can last a lifetime. Encouraging your children to read regularly can significantly impact their academic success and personal growth. My favourite time of day is reading with my girls before bedtime.
This World Book Day, let’s celebrate the joy of reading together. I encourage everyone to pick up a book, explore new genres and share your favorite stories with others. Let’s make reading a cherished part of our daily lives and continue to nurture a community that values and loves books. Remember that we are hosting a reading session for parents from 9 till 9:30 on the day for you to come and read with your child.
Warm regards,
Mr B
